Interprofessional Education (IPE) is part of the curriculum for over two thirds of pre-registration professional courses in health and social care. The CAIPE Interprofessional Education Handbook provides a comprehensive background and set of tools for both understanding interprofessional education and for implementing it in the real world.
The handbook outlines the importance of shared values and direction in creating an agile workforce. It breaks down how the psychological understanding of individuals, groups and learning is integral to interprofessional education. There is an example of an IPE workshop to allow health professionals to better implement IPE in their own professional environments.
